Lake Norman Home Finder and Listings

Lake Norman, NC was created in the early 1960's and is North Carolinas largest manmade lake. It is located 25 minutes north/northwest of Charlotte, NC and a little southwest of Statesville, NC. Lake Norman was named after Norman Atwater Cocke, a former president of Duke Power. Lake Norman stretches around 34 miles from Cowans Ford Dam on the southernmost end to the Lookout at the northern end of the Lake. Lake Norman has a water surface area of 32,510 acres with a shoreline of approximately 520 miles.
