Villages Of Denver NC

Construction of the largest planned subdivision in Denver so far is under way, with a 685-home community planned off Optimist Club Road.

Villages of Denver, a 245-acre community is slated for build-out in about seven years, said Randy Hawkins, Lincoln County's zoning administrator.

Another large development that's planned is Carolina Ridge, a 1,571-home active adult community for people 55-and-older off N.C. 73 and Little Egypt Road.

A 20-acre school site was donated in 2001 for the St. James Elementary School as part of the Villages of Denver development proposal, Hawkins said.
